Below the band the shaft runs slim and near‑parallel, ∅28 tapering to ∅24.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThat is the whole design: a fat top section, a hard band, then almost nothing. The ring‑to‑shaft jump is close to 2.5:1, and the upper section stays deliberately fat because that is where the bending moment is — it is what lets the shaft below be as thin as it is.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe band is turned at ∅68 from a 70 mm board, leaving a single millimetre of skim on each face. Supplied with an angled seat for the hanger bolt so the leg rakes 6°.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFitting note:\u003c\/strong\u003e the ∅24 foot is strong in compression but a sideways kick is what breaks a slender turned foot. Brass ferrules are recommended.
