High quality, natural 90mm / 9cm / 3.5" beech wood spheres, hand crafted in the UK from a solid piece of wood. The material is 100% sustainable, untreated local grown beechwood, which is extremely hard and long lasting inside or out. The balls are hand turned and then sanded to a very smooth finish. Every single sphere is unique in appearance. Weight is 260 grams / 8.81 ounces. The balls are organic and made from responsibly sourced and sustainable material. Due to the hand crafted nature, they are fully spherical to the eye but not suitable for applications where a perfectly technical sphere is required (such as a billiard / pool ball for example). The orbits are suitable to play with, as decorative elements, on their own or as part of a furniture construction, they can be used for crafts projects and can even be used as tai chi balls. They are perfectly well suited to be painted compared to other brands cheaper, mass produced balls which are treated with a sanding paste and therefore repel most paints. Options for those balls are either full round balls, a pair of 2 half spheres and a full ball fitted with a 10mm dowel on request.
