Shipping policy

How We Ship

We ship from our workshop in Birmingham, United Kingdom. All orders are dispatched via tracked courier services. We ship to addresses across the UK and internationally.

Production & Dispatch Times

All Farwinger products are made to order. Please allow 3–7 working days for production before your order is dispatched. You will receive an email notification when your order has shipped, including your tracking number.

During peak periods or for particularly large or complex items, production may take longer. We will contact you if this applies to your order.

UK Delivery

  • Standard: 2–3 working days after dispatch
  • Express: next working day after dispatch (where available — shown at checkout)

International Delivery

Delivery times for international orders vary by destination and are shown at checkout. Please note that international shipments may be subject to customs delays outside our control. We do not accept responsibility for delays caused by customs clearance.

Customs & Import Duties

For orders delivered outside the United Kingdom, customs duties and import taxes may apply. These charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Farwinger has no control over these charges and is not liable for them. We recommend contacting your local customs authority for guidance before placing your order.

Shipping Insurance

All shipments are covered by XCover shipping protection, arranged through our logistics partner SendCloud. This cover applies to loss and damage in transit up to the declared value of your order.

To make a claim under the insurance policy, the following steps must be followed:

  1. Note damage at delivery: If the outer packaging appears damaged when delivered, note this on the carrier's delivery documentation before accepting the parcel where possible.
  2. Photograph everything immediately: Upon opening, take clear photographs of:
    • The outer packaging — all sides, including any damage, labels, and tape
    • The inner packaging and void fill material
    • The damaged item itself, from multiple angles
  3. Retain all packaging: Do not discard any packaging — box, void fill, wrapping, or cling film — until your claim is fully resolved.
  4. Contact us within 48 hours: Email contact@farwinger.com with your photographs and order number as soon as possible.

Important: XCover claims must be submitted within 28 days of the delivery date (or expected delivery date for lost parcels). Claims submitted after this deadline cannot be processed, and we will be unable to recover costs from the insurer on your behalf. Please do not delay in reporting damage or non-delivery.

For lost or missing parcels, please contact us if your order has not arrived within:

  • UK: 10 working days after the estimated delivery date
  • International: 20 working days after the estimated delivery date

International Packing — Cling Film Wrap

For all international shipments, we wrap wooden items in cling film before boxing. This helps slow the rate of moisture exchange during transit and reduces the risk of the wood drying out too rapidly.

Please do not remove the cling film immediately upon arrival. Follow our Wood Acclimatisation Guide for full instructions on how to safely introduce your item to its new environment.
