Farwinger is a small workshop in Birmingham that runs like a much larger one. Seven desks, and one address each — so a drawing, an invoice query and a late parcel never land in the same inbox, and nothing waits on the one person who happens to know about it.

Michael Farwinger
michael@farwinger.comThe name Farwinger trades under, and the desk anything needing a judgement rather than a process arrives at — an unusual commission, a specification nobody has turned before, or the question of whether we should take a job on at all. Our telephone number and social accounts are in Michael's domain.

Founder & Director
Friedemann Wocke
friedemann@farwinger.comThirty years of production floors before this one. Friedemann ran build and installation crews of up to a hundred for theme parks, museums, retail and brand experience — Universal, Six Flags, Disney, Apple, Harrods — and brought the same discipline to a creative workshop. He costs the difficult jobs, finds the route when a piece will not fit on the lathe, and is where a large or awkward commission ends up. German by birth, British by choice.

Send Joel a drawing, a photograph or a description and back comes a price, a lead time and a specification you can check — turned components for joiners and cabinet makers, restoration parts, one-offs and repeat runs. This desk will also tell you plainly when we are the wrong workshop for a job.

Procurement
Daniel Hartley
procurement@farwinger.comTimber and materials. This is the desk that buys the oak, walnut, ash, beech and tulipwood everything is turned from, keeps the stock at Milk Street honest, and chases the mill when a board is late. Suppliers deal with Daniel. It is the reason a species we have quoted is a species we can actually get.

Product Sourcing
Nadia Sinclair
procurement@farwinger.comBatch manufacture. Where a design needs a factory rather than a lathe — casting, moulding, tooled production — this desk finds the maker, gets a first article onto the bench, and works out the smallest run worth committing to. Tooling, minimum order quantities and landed cost sit with Nadia.

Accounts Administration

accounts@farwinger.comInvoices, statements, and the email asking when one is going to be paid. This desk deals with nothing else, deliberately: if Michelle's message has arrived and the question is about the work or the price rather than the payment, reply to Joel instead and it gets sorted properly.

Customer Support
Mara Mendoza
support@farwinger.comOrders, deliveries, returns, and everything after the parcel leaves us. This desk finds a late dispatch, sorts a wrong size, and answers the thing you would rather not have to telephone about. If it cannot be fixed here, Mara tells you who can fix it.
