Terms of service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Farwinger website at farwinger.com ("the Site") and the purchase of products from our online store. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
About Us
Farwinger is a UK-based woodturning and craft business operated by Michael Farwinger, based in Birmingham, England. Contact us at contact@farwinger.com.
Products
All Farwinger products are handcrafted from natural solid wood. As wood is a natural material, each piece will exhibit unique variations in grain pattern, colour, and texture. These variations are inherent characteristics of the material and are not defects.
Product photographs are representative of the item you will receive but cannot guarantee an exact match in grain or colour.
All standard products are made to order, with production taking 3–7 working days before dispatch. Bespoke products are made to your individual specification and may have longer lead times.
Pricing
All prices are displayed in GBP (£). VAT is applied where required by UK law. Farwinger reserves the right to update prices at any time. The price confirmed at the time of your order is the price you will be charged.
Orders & Acceptance
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. Your order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion — for example, in the event of a pricing error or product unavailability. If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.
Bespoke Orders
Orders made to your personal specification (custom dimensions, wood species, finish, or design) are non-cancellable once production has begun. These items are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Please ensure all specifications are correct before confirming a bespoke order.
Payment
Payment is taken at the time of ordering. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. All transactions are processed securely. Farwinger does not store payment card details.
Wood & Natural Materials
Solid wood is a hygroscopic, living material that responds to changes in humidity and temperature. Minor movement, checking, or surface variation over time is normal and is not a defect. We strongly recommend following our Wood Acclimatisation Guide upon receipt of your order to minimise the risk of cracking or shrinkage.
Your Consumer Rights
These Terms do not limit or exclude your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and any other applicable legislation.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Farwinger's total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the price paid for the relevant product. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from your use of our products or website.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Intellectual Property
All content on this Site — including product images, text, designs, and branding — is the property of Farwinger and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written permission.
Website Use
You agree not to use this Site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Site. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
